I have to admit that I was very tempted to cheat on the candida diet yesterday after seeing this sign posted above my local McDonald’s. I few weeks ago when my cheating was at it’s worst and it seemed that I had abandoned the candida diet altogether, I actually got in line in the McDonald’s drive thru and wanted to purchase one. I waited for a little while but the car in front of me was taking forever (an act of God I like to think) so I sped off. A few days later I had to pick up something for my mother to eat from McDonald’s and I was faced with temptation again. I was craving a filet-o-fish. I love them and I have loved them ever since I was kid. I would always opt for the fish sandwich over the burger. As I looked at the menu and realized that the sandwich alone was over $3, I just could reconcile paying $3.00 for something that was going to slowly contribute to my demise. I walked away from temptation that day and bought my mother a small french fry and a McChicken sandwich, both items from the dollar menu. Although I could not stomach paying $3 for one sandwich 2 for $3 seemed to make perfect sense. However I did not fall for this gimmick and I reminded myself that there will always be temptation around me and depending on your tastes some things will be harder to resist than others. I did get a good laugh as I stopped to take this picture. You do know that I will be working diligently in my kitchen to recreate this fast food sandwich in the coming weeks. I hopefully will be able to create a candida diet friendly version of my favorite fast food sandwich. Have a great weekend!
