So the crockpot lamb stew was a hit last night. Everyone enjoyed it but I had to lie to my mother and tell her it was beef. My mother is convinced that she does not like lamb because she ate it 11 years ago and did not like it. I encouraged her to try lamb again because but she refused. She did however eat 2 servings of the lamb, I mean beef stew last night. When she said it tasted like beef I just went along with it, so I guess I did not exactly lie to her but I just didn’t correct her. I am actually going to try to use this method of non-disclosure from now on in my house. So many dinners have tasted great but when my 7 year old gets wind of the ingredients in whatever it is I cooked she all of a sudden does not like it. This is why the Ratatouille that I made a few weeks back has not been cooked again. She was eating the eggplant until I told her it was eggplant and then she didn’t want any more. If I don’t tell her what it is and she likes it maybe she will actually finish a meal without all of the complaining. My only concern is that it is allergy friendly and candida diet appropriate.
I am looking forward to continuing my week of crockpot recipes with tilapia tonight. I have never tried making fish in the crockpot so I am looking forward to tasting this dish. My family did ask me to lay off the chicken this week so I promised to try. I am actually really sick of chicken too. So in addition to this week being all crockpot recipes there will be no chicken recipes either. Have a great day!
