Grapeseed Oil – Candida Diet Product

Grapeseed oil is new to me.  A few weeks back I bought a bottle of it from Trader Joe’s hoping to experiment a bit.  It sat on my shelf for quite a while and it was not until I ran out of safflower oil and did not feel like going to Whole Foods that I remembered it was there.  This was actually quite fortunate because my yeast free creamy herb salad dressing came out so much tastier using grapeseed oil than with safflower.  I think I am going to be purchasing grapeseed oil instead of safflower from now on.  We candida dieters have to make so many things from scratch and it is imperative that we use the most flavorful ingredients possible to obtain the best results.

It is hard for me to describe the flavor and body of this oil because I just don’t do that but I do know that it definitely enhanced the overall taste of my salad dressing.   The label actually indicates that grapeseed oil is ideal for making salad dressings, tossing with hot pasta, making marinades and basting sauces.  I can’t wait to try it in my yeast free mayonnaise recipe.  Grapeseed oil also has a high flash point which makes it a good choice for sauteing, baking or frying.  It is funny because I never heard of this oil until I stumbled across it at Trader Joe’s.  I don’t know how I missed this one but I am glad that I am now aware of it.  I am looking forward to experimenting with grapeseed oil in my kitchen and enhancing many more yeast free dishes.
