This Week’s Candida Diet Menu

I had a great weekend on the yeast free diet against all odds.  The concession stands at my daughter’s softball game and track meet taunted me with things like hot dogs, cheese burgers, hot chocolate, nachos, candy and Cup Noodles.  I somehow prevailed despite all of this temptation even while enduring yesterday’s cold and rainy weather during the track meet.  I have to admit that I was tempted the most by the smell of the burgers on the grill because I was really hungry.  I did not realize how long the track meet was going to be and I foolishly did not eat anything before we left.  I also failed to pack yeast free snacks and we were at the meet from 11:30AM  to 5:00PM without any appropriate food.  A fellow parent happily shared his abundance of fruit with my daughter and I am so thankful for his kindness.  He of course offered me some but I politely declined as I did not want to set myself back after a great yeast free week.  When we finally finished up we flew out of there and went right to Grandma’s house where she had baked chicken, greens and white rice.  I was so happy to finally be in front of food that I could eat and did not have to cook, that I happily ate the chicken and greens.

I am still surprised that I made it through the weekend yeast free but I just kept thinking about how hard it has been for me to get back on track once I slip up.  I have been horrible at regrouping after a candida diet blunder so I did not want to take the chance.  I am glad that I didn’t because I do feel good today and am not craving sugar as much as I was last week.  I am completely ready to take on another week yeast free.
