This Week’s Candida Diet Menu

I had a horrible weekend living yeast free and it spilled into my Monday.  Actually, I was pretty good Saturday but Sunday was a total bust and I think I was just feeling sorry for myself yesterday.  I had to have a tough conversation with my ex yesterday morning and it took a bit of a toll on me.  I will try not to play the blame game here but I must give you a bit of background.  My ex has never been a very responsible person and I am the type of person that just loves to take on other peoples responsibilities rather than just letting them take ownership.  I have had a hard time distinguishing what things in life are my responsibility and what things belong to others and even if I do manage to make this distinction I have trouble letting go and get involved in stuff that is none of my business.  My ex and I have 2 little girls together, ages 2 and 7 so there are times that we must be together for them but that time is becoming too frequent and unhealthy and this weekend was a perfect example.

My ex has been unable to drive for the last year because first he lost his license and now he is unable to repair and insure the car that he has.  I realize this has nothing to do with me but in order for the children to see him on his weekend I have to make the choice of whether or not I am going to bring them to him.  Additionally my oldest has gotten involved with a lot of activities this year such as, track softbal and Girl Scouts,  so if she is to continue these activities during his weekends I have to make the choice of whether or not I am going to drive them all around.  For the last couple of months this is what I have done and it leaves me exhausted, annoyed and feeling a bit used.  I so desperately want him to take responsibility but why would he when I have made the choice to just drive him around?  Yesterday I told him how I felt and he didn’t have much to say.  I told him that I would not drive him around anymore and until he is driving or Cheyenne’s weekend activities are over that we will have to cut out his weekend.  I don’t know if this was the right thing to do but I can’t go on like this.  I pretty much parent alone as my ex is not in a situation emotionally or financially where he is able to offer much assistance and now his weekends have turned into more work for me and I don’t believe that this is my responsibility.  I do of course worry about my children and how this will affect them but mom being tired and angry can’t be good for them either.  This whole thing just irritated me and I wallowed in it from Saturday night until Monday afternoon.  This time my wallowing did include a lot of non yeast free diet food.  Doing some housework and going to an Al-Anon meeting last night snapped be out of it, so thankfully I am feeling better today.

So what were my candida diet blunders this weekend?
Piece of ice cream cake
Slice of pizza
Enteman’s chocolate chip cookies (a lot of them)
Enteman’s rasberry danish (My evil brother bought the cookies and danish on sale 2 for $4)
Pack of smarties

I told you it was bad and I felt horrible last night.  I am taking it easy this morning and starting out with some boiled eggs and a cup of green tea.  I am going to go to another meeting today in order to help me deal with my feelings more productively than binging.
