Tortilla Chips are one of my favorite candida diet friendly snacks. Corn is the main ingredient in most brands of tortilla chips. Corn is a little controversial and most candida diet guidelines that you will encounter will advise you to avoid it. Corn is a high starch vegetable and can be problematic to some candida dieters but not all of them. Avoiding corn might be the right move for some but eating corn in small quantities and really paying attention to any adverse reactions that occur may work for others. I am able to enjoy corn in moderation and while it may be hard for me to eat only a few tortilla chips at a time, I am so glad that they are not completely off limits.
So what does one look for in a bag of candida diet friendly tortilla chips? Many of the tortilla chips in the supermarket contain preservatives and additives that you will want to avoid on the candida diet. Your ideal chip will contain only a few ingredients and no preservatives. When I first started the candida diet I seemed to have such a hard time finding an all natural corn tortilla chip that was appropriate for the candida diet. At the time I didn’t realize that even a few of the Tostitos varieties were all natural. Nowadays there are plenty of options. I have even started to see multi-grain and brown rice tortilla chips in the supermarket but I have not found any of these varieties without preservatives. The following is a list of Candida Diet Friendly Tortilla Chips. I hope that you are able to enjoy these in moderation.
